Men's Lacrosse Visits Lafayette on Tuesday Night

EASTON, Pa. - The Drexel men's lacrosse team look for its first win of the 2022 season on Tuesday night when it visits Lafayette. The Dragons opened they year with a 12-8 setback to UMBC on Saturday.
THE SERIES
Drexel leads the series, 26-16. The Dragons have won the last 10 meetings, although only one of those meetings has come in the last 10 years. Last season, the Dragons defeated Lafayette in Philadelphia, 24-8. The last meeting before that during the 2011 season. Drexel's last visit to Easton came in 2010, where the Dragons edged No. 8 Lafayette, 12-11.
ABOUT DREXEL
The Dragons advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second time last year after defeating UMass and Hofstra in the CAA Championships. Drexel finished the year 10-3 and narrowly missed knocking off No. 4 Notre Dame in the opening round. Brian Voelker returns the top four scorers from a year ago and has five players coming back that were named to the CAA's Preseason All-Conference team. Sean Donnelly, Jack Farrell, Ryan Genord, Jack Mulcahy and Sean Quinn were all recognized by the league. In addition, Quinn and George Grippo were named Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-Americans. Other returning starters include Aidan Coll, who led the team with 33 goals, goalie Ross Blumenthal and defensemen Brennan Greenwald and Patrick Udovich.
ABOUT UMBC
The Leopards have already played two games. They opened the year with a 20-15 loss to Penn State, but rebounded to beat VMI on Saturday on the road, 14-6. Peter Lehman and Ryan Duncan each have five goals to lead the team. Lehman has eight points to lead the squad. Kalman Kraham and John Mathes have each scored four times. Gabe Cummins has a 1-1 record in the cage for Lafayette.
WHAT'S NEXT
Drexel will play its first home game on Saturday afternoon at Vidas Field. It will be the annual meeting with UAlbany beginning at noon.
