PHILADELPHIA – Giancarlo Vaccaro and Joshua Pulla each scored a goal in Drexel's 2-0 victory over UNCW Saturday afternoon at Vidas Field.

The Dragons, who have been unbeaten at home for 12 straight matches, moved to 7-1-4 overall and 3-1-3 in conference play. UNCW fell to 6-4-3 overall and has a 1-3-2 conference mark.

Vaccaro checked into the match in the 31^st minute after cleaning up a shot that rebounded off the left post. The goal was the junior's third goal of the year.

In the second half, Drexel was down to 10 players on the field after Dominick Bachstein was shown a red card in the 59^th minute. But that did not stop Drexel from scoring another goal. In the 76^th minute, Pulla converted a shot from about 16 yards out to double Drexel's lead.

In the final 30 minutes of play, Drexel played lockdown defense, holding UNCW scoreless despite many attempts on goal. Alessandro Capogna earned the start in goal and completed his fourth shutout of the season and 10^th of his career. The senior made five saves in the effort and helped Drexel overcome the man-down situation.

Drexel returns to the non-conference slate on Tuesday, October 17 to face Army in West Point, N.Y. Action is slated to begin at 5 p.m.
