Swimming and Diving Teams to Compete in CSCAA National Invitational Championships

The Drexel swimming and diving teams are set to compete at the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America National Invitational Championships. The meet will take place from March 9-11 in the Elkhart Health & Aquatics Center in Elkhart, Ind. Drexel will send six men and six women to the invitational meet.
Alasdair Bell, Jakub Kwasny, Kacper Karnik, Andrea Casini, Alessio Gianni and Sebastian Smith will represent the men's team and make the trip to Indiana, while Chelsea Gravereaux, Ewa Osiniak, Aldercy Bui, Megan Ehrnfeldt, Federica Nocera and Delaney Leonard will represent the Drexel women's team.
Alasdair Bell
Bell will partake in the 50 and 100 back as well as the 50 free. Bell put up a career best time in the 100 back at this year's CAA Championships with his time of 49.02. Alasdair was also apart of the program record-breaking 200 free relay team from the CAA Championships as they finished with a time of 1:19.50. He was also apart of the 200 medley relay team which also broke a program record thanks to their time of 1:26.29.
Jakub Kwasny
Kwasny will be competing in the 50, 100 and 200 fly as well as the 100 free. At the CAA Championships, Kwasny won the gold medal in the 200 fly thanks to his time of 1:44.45. Kwasny also broke two program records on his own as he broke the program record in the 200 fly as well as the 100 fly with his time of 46.29. He was also apart of the program record-breaking 200 and 400 free relay teams. He helped each of these teams finish with times of 1:19.50 and 2:55.26, respectively.
Kacper Karnik
Karnik will swim the 50, 100 and 200 breast as well as the 200 IM in Elkhart, Ind. Karnik earned a gold medal in the 200 breast at the CAA Championships with his time of 1:57.37. Karnik was also apart of the program record-breaking 200 and 400 medley relay teams as they finished with times of 1:26.29 and 3:11.08.
Andrea Casini
Casini is set to show his skills in freestyle, as he will be competing in the 100, 200 and 500 free. During the CAA Championships, Casini won a bronze medal in the 200 free, clocking in at 1:38.03. Casini also won another bronze with the 800 free relay team as they were able to finish with a time of 6:33.96.
Alessio Gianni
Giannis is all set to swim in the 200 and 400 IM, as well as the 200 back and 200 fly. Gianni was apart of the program record-breaking 400 medley relay team as they finished with a time of 3:11.08. Additionally, Gianni broke a personal record at this year's CAA in the 200 back as he finished with a time of 1:45.72.
Sebastian Smith
Smith will be competing in the 50 free, 100 IM as well as the 50 and 100 fly. Smith was apart of three relay teams that broke program records at the CAA's this year. He was apart of the 200 and 400 medley relay teams which broke records with times of 1:26.29 and 3:11.08 each. Additionally, he was apart of the 200 and 400 free relay teams which broke program records with times of 1:19.50 and 2:55.26, respectively. Smith also won a silver in the 100 free with a time of 43.67.
Chelsea Gravereaux
Gravereaux is set to swim in the 100 fly, as well as the 50, 100 and 200 free at the CSCAA Championships. During the CAA's, Gravereaux won a bronze medal in the 200 free thanks to her time of 1:46.76. She was also apart of the program record-breaking 200 free relay team as they finished with a time of 1:31.24.
Ewa Osiniak
Osiniak will compete in the 100 and 200 IM, as well as the 50 and 100 breast. She had a career best time at the CAA's this year in the 100 free, as she was able to clock in at 51.23. Osiniak clinched a spot in the 50 breast after swimming 29.06 at the event at the CAA's.
Aldercy Bui
Aldercy Bui will look to show off her backstroke at the CSCAA's as she will compete in the 50, 100 and 200 back. She clinched her spot in these competitions at the West Virgina Invitationals with times of 26.08, 56.49 and 2:02.67 respectively in those events.
Megan Ehrnfeldt
The lone freshman swimming for the women's team, Megan Ehrnfeldt will look to make her mark in the 50, 100 and 200 fly, as well as the 50 back at the CSCAA championships. Ehrnfeldt set a program record at the CAA's in the 100 fly with her time of 54.59. Ehrnfeldt was also apart of the silver-winning 200 free relay team as she joined Chelsea Gravereaux, Lera Nasedkina and Victoria Palochik for a time of 1:31.24.
Federica Nocera
Nocera will look to showcase her backstroke abilities at the CSCAA's as she will be competing in the 50, 100 and 200 back. Nocera won a silver medal at the CAA's to clinch her spot in this competition thanks to her time of 1:56.97 in the 200 back.She finished the 100 back at the CAA's with a time of 54.77 and she clinched her spot in the 50 back at the West Virginia Invitation thanks to her time of 25.82.

Friday: 9:30 a.m. prelims/6 p.m. finals | 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 800 free relay
Saturday: 9:30 a.m. prelims/6 p.m. finals | 1,000 free, 1650 free, 100 IM, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 400 free relay
