Lily Meuninck went-1-for-4 with two RBIs. Lana Mooney checked into the game with a 3-for-4 game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Villanova capitalized on a second and third situation by lifting a ball over the left center fence. The Wildcats posted four runs in the second inning to carry a 4-0 lead into the third.
In the top of the third, with the bases loaded, Garza singled through the left side, scoring Abbonizio. Immediatiely after, Meuninck put a ball on a rope to right center and bounced it over the fence for a ground rule double. Scoring on the play was Humble and Mooney. Villanova limited the damage at three as Drexel left runners stranded at second and third. Heading into bottom of the inning, Drexel trailed 4-3.
Nova then drew back-to-back walks and hit a double to right center to extend its lead to 5-3. In the fifth, the Wildcats tacked on an insurance run. The home team then loaded the bases in the sixth and managed to score four runs to take a 10-3 lead.
