Jenika Cuocco Named IWLCA Co-Defensive Player of the Week

NORTHBOROUGH, MA – Jenika Cuocco of women's lacrosse team has been named Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the IWLCA. This is the sophomore's second recognition this week after she was honored by the CAA as rookie of the week for the sixth time this season which is a CAA women's lacrosse record. Shea Dolce (Boston College) was also named co-defensive player of the week after she led Boston College in an upset against Syracuse.

Cuocco found 12 saves and picked up four ground balls in goal against Hofstra in a 18-6 victory on Saturday. Against the Pride, she allowed four goals in 50:58 of play and held HU scoreless in the third quarter. Her efforts secured DU's fourth CAA victory of the season to improve the Dragon's record to 11-4. The Long Island, N.Y. native leads the conference in save percentage at 53.9% which is second in Division One. Additionally, Cuocco is among the top 12 in D1 in goals against average (8.75/game) and saves (151).

The Dragons host senior day and their final home contest at Vidas Field on Saturday, April 29. Senior day ceremonies will take place following the game. The opening draw against Monmouth is scheduled for 1 p.m. on FloLive ($).
