O'Reilly Brace Lifts Dragons Past Retrievers

PHILADELPHIA – Annalena O'Reilly scored once in each half, powering the Drexel women's soccer team to a 2-0 win against the UMBC Retrievers on Thursday night.

- The goals for O'Reilly were her first of the season. The defending CAA Midfielder of the Year tallied in both the 23rd and 84th minute.
- Emma Goodrow assisted on the first goal for her first point of the season.
- The Dragons held an 11-1 advantage in shots on goal and were up 5-2 in corners.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Midway through the first half, Drexel earned a free kick near midfield. Goodrow sent the ball to the top of the box. O'Reilly headed it down, controlled it and sent it past the keeper for a 1-0 lead.
- Late in the second, a foul at the top of the area gave the Dragons another free kick. O'Reilly stepped up and curled the ball around the wall into the lower right corner for her second of the match, creating the final.
