Women's Swimming and Diving Completed Day Three of Bruno Invite

PROVIDENCE, RI- The Drexel women's swimming and diving team wrapped up day three of the Bruno Invite. The Dragons, with 693 points, sit in third place. Brown leads the standings after the third day.
Mari Alencar won the gold medal in the 50 freestyle, finishing with a time of 22.92. Alencar entered the finals seeded second after a strong prelim time of 23.05. In the 500 freestyle, Brittany Corbett earned a silver medal with a record-breaking time of 4:48.98, surpassing the school record. Harper Barrowman also had a standout performance in the 500 freestyle, finishing fifth with a time of 4:57.42.
The team of Federica Nocera, Emma Pillich, Megan Ehrnfeldt, and Mari Alencar earned a bronze medal in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:42.88. Pillich added to the team's medal count with a silver in the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall at 1:03.31 after qualifying sixth with a prelim time of 1:04.26. Nocera also brought home a silver medal in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 54.68, following her prelim time of 54.74, which seeded her second.
Other notable A-final performances included Megan Ehrnfeldt in the 100 butterfly, where she placed fourth with a time of 54.17 after qualifying second with a prelim time of 54.14. Alencar also competed in the 100 butterfly A-final, finishing seventh at 54.80. In the 200 freestyle, Corbett secured a sixth-place finish with a time of 1:50.66, and Barrowman earned an A-final appearance as well, finishing seventh at 1:53.38.
On the final day of competition, the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 1650 freestyle, and the 400 freestyle relay will be featured. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. in Providence, R.I.
