
Swimming and Diving to Compete in CAA Championships on Wednesday

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel swimming and diving teams head to Hampton, Va., to compete in the 2024 Coastal Athletic Association's Swimming and Diving Conference Championships. The CAA Championships begin on Wednesday, February 28 and will conclude on Saturday, March 2.
LAST TIME OUT
The women's swimming and diving team finished the regular season with a 3-2 record overall. The Dragons had wins against Towson, Lehigh and Seton Hall. The Dragons most recently pulled off a 169-131 win over the Tigers, where Federica Nocera finished with four first-place finishes and Chelsea Gravereaux finished with three.
The men's swimming and diving team closed the regular season with a 2-3 record. In their final tune-up, the Dragons fell to the Towson Tigers, 162-138. The men's team received notable performances by Kaan Akdag, who finished with two first-place swims, and Dimi Gkelis, who finished first in the 100 back with a time of 49.51. In addition, the 400 free relay team of Alessio Gianni, Andrea Casini, Colton Wade and Sebastian Smith set a new Drexel Pool record of 3:00.93, topping the old record, set in 1986, by over three seconds.
