NEWARK, Del. – The Delaware Blue Hens defeated the Drexel softball team in the series finale on Saturday, 2-0, in Newark, Del.
Lindsay Nelson (4-9) went six innings and held Delaware to three hits and just two runs. Nelson also fanned five batters in the effort.
Both teams only managed to tally three hits, and the difference maker was a pair of doubles in the fifth for Delaware and a solo home run in the sixth.
Mia Garza, Ashley Errico and Grace Abbonizio all checked into the game with a hit for Drexel.
The Dragons return to non-conference play on Wednesday, April 3 at 3 p.m. against the Saint Joseph's Hawks.
