Baker and Evans Garner Preseason Accolades; Dragons Chosen to Finish Second

RICHMOND, Va. – Amaris Baker of Drexel women's basketball has been selected to the Preseason All-CAA First Team the conference announced during its 2025 Basketball Media Day. Deja Evans was also selected to the Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mentions. The Dragons were selected second in the preseason poll.
Baker completed her senior season after leading the conference in points per game, scoring 17 per contest. The 2024 All-CAA First Team pick returns to Drexel after scoring double digits in 27 games last season.
Evans got the nod as an honorable mention after finishing her first season in blue and gold with 66 blocks which resulted in a CAA All-Defensive Team pick. The sophomore blocked nine shots in Drexel's game against Temple last season to tie the program's single-game program record.
The Dragons, who received two first place votes, finished second in the CAA Preseason Poll. Charleston was picked first, receiving eight votes, while N.C. A&T had three votes for third place. Taryn Barbot, the league's Player of the Year last year from Charleston, was chosen as the Preseason Player of the Year.
