McGurk Named CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. — Laine McGurk of Drexel women's basketball has been named CAA Player of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon. The junior combined for 48 points in the first week of the regular season, including scoring a career-high 33 in the win over Pittsburgh.
The West Chester native helped lead the Dragons to their first victory over a Power-4 school since the team defeated Penn State on December 18, 2022. McGurk shot 13-for-19 across 35 minutes of play and connected on five shots from deep. She followed her performance with 15 points and six rebounds in a victory over Marist as DU started the season 2-0.
