PHILADELPHIA - Kalea Calugay and Max Semple were named Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopedics, for the week of April 7-13.
Calugay, a member of the softball team, put together a historic performance on Sunday in Drexel's double header against Elon. In game one on Sunday, the junior hit two home runs, becoming just the eighth player in Drexel history to hit multiple homers in a single game. Over the two games Sunday, the Westfield, New Jersey native batted 3-6 with four RBIs and three home runs.
Semple, a member of the men's lacrosse team, lit the goal up in Drexel's key CAA win at Hofstra, 14-6. The senior scored five goals as the Dragons improved to 3-2 in league play. Semple now has 118 career goals and is eighth all time at Drexel.
