Dragons Fall to Gardner-Webb in Season-Opener

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Drexel men's soccer team dropped its season-opener to Gardner-Webb on Thursday, 4-0, in Harrisonburg, Va. The Bulldogs scored two goals in each half to top the Dragons.
The Bulldogs struck first in the 22nd minute of the game. Jaylen Orr finished off a play started by Kpardeh Samson. The Bulldogs tacked on another goal in the 44th minute.
Orr added his second goal of the game in the 48th minute of the game to give Gardner-Webb a three-goal lead. In the 69th minute, the Bulldogs added their fourth goal of the game.
Owen Moore started between the posts for Drexel and made four saves against the 2024 Big South champions.
Drexel returns to action on Sunday, August 24, against the Fordham Rams. Action from Sentara Park in Harrisonburg, Va. is set for 4 p.m.
