Dragons to Travel to Boston for Sunday Matchup

PHILADELPHIA -The Drexel women's basketball team closes its brief road trip on Sunday, February 1 against the Northeastern Huskies. Action from the Cabot Center is set for 1 p.m. on Flo College.
Last Time Out
The Drexel women's basketball team made four free throws with less than a minute remaining in regulation to defeat the Monmouth Hawks in West Long Branch, N.J., 56-53. Entering Friday night, Monmouth had one of the CAA's top home records of 8-1. Drexel improved to 12-7 overall and 5-3 in conference play.
Amaris Baker scored a game-high 18 points on 6-for-12 shooting. The graduate student also added three rebounds and two assists to the box score.
Laine McGurk scored 15 points on six field goals and three treys. It is the third time this season that the junior made three three-pointers in a game.
Friday's victory against Monmouth is Drexel's first victory in West Long Branch since 2020, before Monmouth joined the CAA.

Drexel and Northeastern are set to meet for the 65th time on Sunday afternoon. The series between the two teams first started on January 24, 1992 and saw Northeastern jump out to an 11-1 lead. Since then, Drexel has dominated the series with a 32-20 record. Drexel has won nine of the last 10 matchups and has a 19-11 record when playing on the road against Northeastern. Drexel currently has a three-game winning streak.

Amaris Baker scored 16 points on 7-for-16 shooting. The senior also corralled a team-high eight rebounds and dished a team-high three assists. It is the second time this season that Baker has led in points, rebounds and assists.
Deja Evans scored 12 points and collected five rebounds.
Cara McCormack and Laine McGurk each scored 10 points in the effort. McGurk added four rebounds and two assists to her stat sheet.
It is the first time four Dragons scored 10 points or more since Drexel's CAA Tournament game against Monmouth on March 15, 2024.
Looking Ahead
Drexel returns to the DAC on February 6 to begin a weekend home stand. On Friday, the Hampton Pirates travel to University City to face Drexel at 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, Drexel hosts the Monmouth Hawks at 1 p.m. Both games will be streamed on FloCollege.
