Dragons Fall to Colgate in Six Innings

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel softball fell to Colgate, 18–2, in six innings on Wednesday afternoon at the Drexel Softball Field. The Dragons moved to 11–10 on the season.
How It Happened
Colgate took an early lead with two runs in the first inning and added three more in the second to go in front 5–0.
The Dragons were held scoreless through the first five innings before getting on the board in the sixth. Ariana Castillo reached and scored on a Devyn Demchak double to center field for Drexel's first run of the game. Later in the inning, Natalie Alldred came home on a wild pitch to make it 18–2.
By the Numbers
Devyn Demchak recorded Drexel's only RBI, finishing 1-for-3 with a double.
Ariana Castillo went 1-for-3 and scored a run.
Drexel totaled two hits in the game.
Courtney Kols struck out four over 4.0 innings in the start.

Drexel remains at home this weekend to host CAA opponent Stony Brook for a three-game series at the Drexel Softball Field. The Dragons and Seawolves will open the series on Friday at 3 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. game on Saturday and a noon first pitch on Sunday.
