GREENSBORO, N.C. – Drexel softball defeated North Carolina A&T, 4-0, on Friday, improving to 16-18 overall and 5-8 in CAA play.
How It Happened
Drexel scored all four of its runs in the top of the first inning. Olivia Sciulli and Jackie Masone reached base and came around to score on a Natalie Alldred fielder's choice, with both runs scoring on a throwing error. Later in the inning, Macie Bergmann homered to left field, driving in two runs to give the Dragons a 4-0 lead.
Drexel held the lead the rest of the way, limiting North Carolina A&T to three hits over the final six innings.
By the Numbers
Macie Bergmann recorded a home run and two RBI.
Olivia Sciulli scored a run and added a hit.
Courtney Kols threw a complete-game shutout, allowing three hits over 7.0 innings with four strikeouts.
