How It Happened
Drexel opened the scoring in the top of the second inning. Devyn Demchak and Macie Bergmann scored on a Mckenna Rowlands single up the middle, with Annabelle Smink advancing to third on the play.
North Carolina A&T responded in the bottom of the second with a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Dragons added to their lead in the top of the sixth inning. Demchak stole home to score before Kylah Reading singled down the left field line, driving in two runs. Later in the inning, Olivia Sciulli doubled down the left field line to bring in another run and extend the lead to 6-1.
North Carolina A&T scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning on a triple and an error, but Drexel held on for the 6-3 win.
By the Numbers
Mckenna Rowlands recorded a hit and two RBI.
Kylah Reading went 1-for-4 with two RBI.
Olivia Sciulli added a double and an RBI.
Courtney Kols pitched a complete game, allowing three runs over 7.0 innings with four strikeouts.
