Tulio Scores Career-High Six Goal, Drexel Defeats Stony Brook, 17-13

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Drexel men's lacrosse team surged to a 17-13 victory against the Stony Brook Seawolves on Saturday afternoon, marking the team's end to regular season conference competitions and securing its place in the upcoming CAA Men's Lacrosse Championships as the No. 2 seed.
Alec Tulio scored a career-high six goals on Saturday afternoon, completing his hat trick thirty seconds into the second quarter. Tulio also added two ground balls to his stat sheet.
Witt Crawford, Jack Joyner and Lincoln Wall all scored two goals, while Crawford added a pair of assists and Joyner had one.
Brendan Donnelly started in the cage for the Dragons, making seven stops. The Seawolves only managed to take 20 shots on target and 25 overall.
Stony Brook jumped out to a 3-1 lead to begin the game. However, the Dragons erupted for seven straight goals to end the first quarter and begin the second. In that span, Tulio completed his hat trick, scoring two goals in the first and adding his third in the second. Lincoln wall also added a pair of goals in the Drexel run. The Dragons ended the first quarter in control, 6-3.
It took until 11:37 left in the quarter for Stony Brook to finally break through the Drexel defense. At that point, the two teams traded blows. Tulio added his fourth goal of the game with just under eight minutes remaining to give Drexel a 9-4 lead. After the Seawolves answered with two goals of their own, Drexel scored to end the half. Hooley checked in with 35 seconds remaining.
In the third quarter, Stony Brook used three straight goals to pull within one of the Dragons, 10-9. The Dragons received goals from Gavin Kelly and Joyner to pull back to within three. Stony Brook added a tally with 2:21 remaining and was vying to score once more to close the quarter, however Nate Bradley intercepted the ball at midfield and took a shot as time expired to send Drexel into the fourth ahead by three. It was Bradley's first goal of the season.
The Dragons continued their hot scoring in the fourth quarter. After conceding a goal with 13 minutes remaining to pull within two, Drexel rallied off four straight goals to score 17 goals. Of those goals, Tulio scored two more goals to push his total to six goals.
Drexel concludes the regular season on the road in Charlottesville, Va. on Friday, taking on the No. 11 Virginia Cavaliers. Action from Klockner Stadium is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on ACC Network.
