STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Drexel softball fell to Stony Brook, 3-1, in game two of the CAA series on Friday. The Dragons move to 22-22 overall and 11-12 in conference play.
How It Happened
Stony Brook took an early lead in the first inning when a run scored on an error to make it 1-0.
Drexel tied the game in the fourth inning. Ariana Castillo scored from third when Olivia Sciulli drew a bases-loaded walk to even the score at 1-1.
Stony Brook responded in the bottom of the fourth inning with a double to left field that drove in two runs to take a 3-1 lead.
Drexel recorded multiple baserunners over the final three innings but was unable to bring in a run as Stony Brook held on for the win.
By the Numbers
Ariana Castillo went 3-for-3 with a run scored.
Quinn Cunningham added two hits.
Drexel recorded seven hits and drew four walks.
Courtney Kols pitched 6.0 innings, allowing three runs.
