COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Drexel Field Hockey Team fell to No. 13 Maryland, 3-0, on Friday afternoon in the team's season-opener in College Park, Md.

BY THE NUMBERS
Halle Geiger and Alana Poole split time in the net and each made five saves to put the team total to 10.

Cato Nackaerts led the team in shots with two.

Nicole Enslin and Callen Todd both played a full 60 minute game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Drexel's best chance at goal came in the third minute of the game when Pili Lemoine fired a shot aimed for the bottom corner of the cage. A sprawling dive by the Maryland keeper kept the game scoreless. The Terps opened the scoring in the 8th minute after Maryland's Aida Ierubino weaved through the circle before flicking the ball up and into the back of the net. Maryland would score again with two minutes remaining in the first quarter. The Dragons were able to hold the Terps scoreless in the second quarter. The game entered the second half with Drexel trailing by two. In the 38th minute, Maddie Vasilios spun off her left shoulder and blasted a shot to the near post to put the Terps up 3-0.
