An experienced defensive midfielder who has emerged as a team leader…one of the team’s top short sticks…a threat in the transition game and is a technically-sound player…key member of the man-down unit.
2009: Had his only goal in Drexel’s loss to Albany…picked up 12 ground balls, including two against Penn and Saint Joseph’s…appeared in 14 games….one of the leaders of the man-down unit that finished 21st in the nation last season.
2008: Played in all 17 games as a sophomore…came up with 17 ground balls, including three at Lafayette…scored a goal in the CAA championship game against Hofstra…also scored earlier in the season at Lafayette…handed out an assist against Sacred Heart.
2007: Appeared in nine contests as a freshman…picked up a pair of ground balls and had three shots.
Background: Standout at Holy Ghost Prep…named Northeastern Conference Most Valuable Player in 2005…earned First Team All-Conference honors in his final two seasons…served as captain as a junior and senior.
Personal: Son of Dennis and Lisa Murray…his father played lacrosse at Drexel and holds the school record for save percentage…has two sisters who both play collegiate lacrosse…majoring in finance.
