Stephen Kim joined Drexel's Sports Medicine team prior to the 2023-24 academic year. He serves as the men's basketball athletic trainer.
Kim came to Drexel after a two-year stint as an assistant athletic trainer with George Washington University. He worked directly with the men's basketball and the women's tennis teams. Before arriving in Washington, D.C., Kim was an assistant athletic trainer for two years in Joplin, Mo. at Missouri Southern State University. He worked with the basketball, volleyball and baseball among other sports.
Kim graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 2019 with a degree in athletic training. During his undergraduate days he was a student trainer in the athletic department. After graduation, Kim served as a graduate assistant at Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La. While there, he traveled with Athletes In Action as their athletic trainer during a tour of the Czech Republic and Spain.
Kim is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. A native of Salem, Oregon, Kim and his wife Janet, who is an emergency medicine doctor at Jefferson Health - Northeast, live in Philadelphia.
