2015: One of Drexel’s trio of goalkeepers who saw action…appeared in just one game as a junior…played 30 minutes against Villanova and had six saves and two ground balls… a CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award winner.
2014: Served as Drexel’s top reserve in the cage…appeared in four games as a sophomore…made a season-high eight saves against Virginia…had six stops against Robert Morris…finished the year with 15 saves.
2013: Started the final 11 games of the 2013 season…was named the CAA Rookie of the Week on March 25 after making 12 saves in a triple-overtime win at No. 7 Hofstra…recorded a career-high 15 saves in Drexel’s win against Bryant…had 10 or more saves on five occasions…had an 8-3 record in his first season of play…finished the year with a .514 save percentage and a 9.74 goals against average…a CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award recipient.
2012: Sat out the season as a redshirt…a CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award recipient.
Background: Two-sport standout at Trinity Pawling last season...prior to that attended Skaneateles High School...was a member of the three-time league championship team and the two-time section champs...was twice selected to the all-league team...named to the Central New York Senior All-Star team and was twice named his team's Defensive MVP...also wrestled in high school...member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Son of Brigett and Dwight Winkelman...one of three children...majoring in construction management.
