Selected as one of the team’s captains for 2017.
2016: Started every game in the cage for Drexel…ended the season 14th in Division I in saves per game (11.4) and 15th in the nation in save percentage (.548)…made a career-best 17 saves against Virginia in the season-opener…recorded 15 or more saves four times and had nine games with at least 10 saves…stopped 16 shots and allowed just four goals in the win vs. St. John’s…his 9.58 goals against average was 21st in the country…recorded 27 ground balls, including a career-high eight against Virginia.
2015: Moved into the starting line-up against Saint Joseph’s in the fifth game of the year and won four of his first five decisions…finished his first year with the team 12th in the nation with an 8.35 goals against average…had a .533 save percentage in his first year with the team…made a career-high 16 saves in the 8-7 win against Hofstra…had 14 stops in the win against Delaware and recorded 10 or more saves five times…also had 18 ground balls… a CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award winner...transfer from Loyola (Md.).
2014: Sat out the 2014 season.
2013: Appeared in seven games in his first season with the Greyhounds...played 85 minutes and had a 7.76 goals against average...made his collegiate debut in the final minutes of Loyola's win at Towson... played most of the second half against Maryland and had three saves.
Background: Attended New Canaan High School Played lacrosse, football and hockey at New Canaan (Conn.) High School and spent a postgraduate season at Trinity Pawling School... Helped New Canaan to the state Class M final in 2011 and earned All-Connecticut and All-Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC) honors... Was the Rams' team captain as a senior, as well... At Trinity Pawling, earned All-Western New England and All-Founders League honors... Received the annual Coaches Award and was named the team's most valuable player... Also was a team captain... As a football player at New Canaan, he earned All-FCIAC honors as a defensive end his senior year, and he was a team captain of the FCIAC champion ice hockey team... A member of New Canaan's honor roll in 2011 and Trinity Pawling's Headmaster's List.
Personal: Son of Monica and Frank Granito...the second of five children...his brother played football at Catholic University and his father played football at Franklin & Marshall...majoring in business.
