Bio
2015: Saw action in six games as a junior…picked up five ground balls…played important minutes down the stretch in Drexel’s 11-10 win in the regular-season finale against Towson… a CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award winner.
2014: Appeared in eight games during the 2004 season…served as a reserve on the defensive end of the field…grabbed three ground balls in the win vs. St. John’s.
2012: Sat out the season as a redshirt…a CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award recipient.
Background: Graduated from St. Andrew’s in Aurora, Ontario…a long stick midfielder and two-year captain…named his team’s Most Valuable Player as a senior and broke the school’s scoring record for a defenseman…member of the Ontario Under 19 team which defeated B.C. for Canadian title in 2010…also played on the school’s hockey team, where he was an assistant captain…his squad won the Midwest Prep Hockey League title and the Canadian Independent league title…named Unsung Hero on that team…captained the Under 19 Canadian Floorball team which competed in Finland.
Personal: Son of Brian and Joy Root…youngest of two children…majoring in sociology.
