Austin Alverado begins his second season as a director of operations on Coach Michael Marchiano's staff in 2022. Alvarado joined Drexel Athletics in November of 2020 as the Director of Operations of the Drexel University Men's Soccer program after eight years of coaching in New Jersey high school soccer.
In 2019, Alvarado guided the Glen Ridge High School soccer team to its first New Jersey state title.
Before his time with Glen Ridge, Alvarado served as an assistant at his alma mater, West Orange High School, capturing the program’s second New Jersey state title. Alvarado was a part of the first state title team as a captain.
A native of Essex County, N.J., Alvarado worked in special education at the West Orange School District from 2012-2019, working specifically with students with disabilities.
