Lukas Fernandes joined as an assistant coach on the men's soccer team in April of 2023. Fernandes comes to the program after assisting with the Temple Owls' men's soccer program this past year. He was responsible for support within daily training sessions and focused on the development of the team's attacking unit.
As a player, Fernandes spent multiple seasons in the professional ranks with Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL Championship and was club captain with Flower City Union in his hometown of Rochester, N.Y. Over those couple of seasons, he made nearly 30 appearances scoring 6 goals. Prior to his professional career, Fernandes was a team captain and All-American Athletic Conference performer for Temple University from 2016 to 2019. The Philly Soccer Six All-Star made 55 career appearances, leading the program in goals and assists during 2018 and 2019.
Fernandes earned his bachelor's degree from Temple in Kinesiology in 2019.
