2010-11: Posted a first-place time of 1:39.11 in the 200 Medley Relay and in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.11 against Widener…also, was the top-finisher in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 55.11 against Widener…earned Philadelphia Inquirers Academic All-Area Men’s Swimming and Diving Team Honors.
2009-10: Team leader in 200 backstroke with a time of 1:55.30 posted at the 2009 Terrapin Cup…took second in the 100 backstroke during a win over Providence with a time of 55.55…also recorded a team second-best in the 100 back at the Terrapin Cup Invitational with a 54.21.
Background: An All-District I swimmer at Downingtown West High School…qualified for the Pennsylvania State Championships…a YMCA national qualifier…member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Son of Phil and Ann Zalkind…majoring in mechanical engineering.
