Mike Halbiger joined the Drexel women's basketball staff in the fall of 2018 as the Coordinator of Basketball Operations and is now in his third season in that role. Halbiger returns to the program after serving as a manager for four years while a student at Drexel.
Halbiger returned to the Dragons after serving as the team's manager from 2012-16. A part of the team which won the 2013 WNIT, Halbiger assisted with operations during practices and games, including the set-up, operation and shut-down of basketball practice equipment. His role expanded to include the production of a monthly newsletter for the team, as well as videos sent to recruits and alumni. He also worked with the coaching staff and local businesses on the road to arrange dining plans for the team during road trips.
Since graduating with a sport management degree that included a minor in business administration, Halbiger has stayed in the area, working at Princeton and Penn. He held the role of Dillon Gym Operations Assistant at Princeton for three years, earning a promotion to Building Supervisor of the facility earlier this year. In that role, Halbiger oversaw the front desk business operations for the Princeton Campus Rec department, supervising student staff and maintaining responsibility for building tours, work orders, housekeeping and general upkeep. Previously, he was an assistant with the Princeton University Sport Clubs, working primarily with the club rugby team. He also was an Operations Supervisor at Penn Athletics during the 2017-18 academic year.
