Kelsea Donnelly joined Drexel Head Coach Jill Batcheller’s staff in the summer of 2018 after previously serving as an assistant coach on Batcheller’s staff at Bryant University.
Donnelly helped Batcheller take the Dragons to the top in 2021, leading the team to regular season champions and the first ever CAA Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. Donnelly worked directly with starting goalkeeper Zoe Bennett who was named CAA Goalie of the Year and was an IWLCA DI All-Region First Team selection.
Donnelly specialized as the goalkeepers coach over the course of her two years with the Bulldogs. Samantha Santeramo, the Bulldogs' primary starter during those two years, posted back-to-back seasons allowing less than 10 goals a game, posting an 8.91 GAA in 2017 and a 9.57 GAA last season. Additionally, Daja Andrews' 3.06 GAA in six appearances was the best overall mark in the NEC.
Donnelly is no stranger to the Colonial Athletic Association. She started in goal for Towson from 2013-15 as she was named to the CAA All-Tournament Team three times. Donnelly also spent a season as an undergraduate assistant coach for the Tigers in 2016.
As a student-athlete, Donnelly was a Tewaaraton Award Watch List member in 2014 and 2015 and was a two-time All-CAA First Team performer. In 2015, Donnelly was named to the Mid-Major Second Team All-American following a season as an IWLCA Mid-Atlantic Second Team performer.
She also currently plays for the Baltimore Brave of the WPLL.
