
Dragons Earn Victory Over Towson in First Home Meet of the Season

Philadelphia - The Drexel men's swimming & diving team pulled out a 154-144 decision over Towson in the Dragons' first meet at the Daskalakis Athletic Center this season. A win in the 400 free relay in the final event clinched the victory.
Matthew Fenn, Gokhan Hulagu, Zeki Karali and Craig Podgurski finished the 400 free relay in 3;11.72 besting Towson's second-place relay team that came in at 3;14.13. In the 1000 free, Adrian Sabovici earned first place with a time of 10:05.87. Podgurski earned victories in the 200 and 500 free while Mert Karsiyakalilar won the 100 butterfly and took second in the 200 butterfly to teammate Armagan Yavus. Karali won the 100 back with a time of 53.87 while the Drexel divers swept first and second place on both boards. Jacob Roberson registered a 293.25 on the 1-meter board while Ian Jevnick earned first place on the 3-meter board with a score of 341.25.
The Dragons will travel to Storrs, Conn. for a meet against the University of Connecticut and Rhode Island on Jan. 26 at 1:00 p.m.
