Dragons Looking to Derail Mason's Tournament Run Tonight at Vidas Field

Philadelphia - Under the lights at Vidas Field tonight Drexel will be playing for pride and the chance to throw a speed bump in the George Mason Patriot's path to the CAA Tournament. While the Dragons have faltered recently in CAA play, the team has shown that it has the ability to elevate its level of play when tested. The Patriots will certainly be putting the Dragons to the test tonight, as they are currently just outside the top four in the conference standings with only two matches left after tonight. This evening's proceedings kick off at 7:00 p.m. at the Vidas Athletic Complex on 43rd and Powelton Ave.
Teams: Drexel (5-8-1, 1-5-1) vs. George Mason (9-5-1, 4-3-1)

Last Meeting: In Drexel's last meeting with George Mason, the Dragons' seven-match winning streak came to an end with a 2-0 loss. The Patriots scored 34 seconds in and outshot the Dragons 15-8, making for a 2-0 win. The Patriots drew a red card on keeper Cory Robertson with just five minutes left in the contest, forcing the Dragons to play a man down.
Entering the Game: The Dragons fell to James Madison 1-0 on Saturday, Oct. 24 at home. The Dukes' leading scorer CJ Sapong scored the difference-maker in the first half and both teams played to a draw from there out, giving the Dukes a shutout victory.
Players to Watch: Fabio Assumpcao remains in the forefront for Drexel with 17 points this season. Assumpcao has seven goals and three assists for the Dragons and is among the CAA's leaders in goals and points per game. Rookie Ben Miller has quietly put in solid work in the back line for the Dragons. He has played in 13 matches and started eight this season.
George Mason junior forward Victor Freeman leads the team with six goals on the season, two of which were knocked home in Mason's victory over Georgia State on Saturday. All-CAA keeper Sean Kelley is currently leading the conference in saves and he ranks among the tops in the CAA in shutouts and save percentage.
