Golf Takes Seventh in Spring Season Opener at Lonnie Baxter Invitational

Savannah, Ga. - The Drexel golf team traveled to Savannah Quarters Country Club in Savannah, Ga. to open its 2009 spring season. The Dragons finished seventh of 10 teams with senior Sean Semenetz leading the way with a two-round total of 160 on the par 72 course. Drexel finished with a two-round score of 659 while Longwood won the competition with a 598.
Semenetz's score of 160 place him in a tie for 19th individually. Andrew Lawson and Mike Carr each fired two-round scores of 165. Lawson shot an 82 in the opening round and followed with an 83 while the senior posted an 84 and an 81. Junior Frank Petrash posted an 84 in the first round and an 86 to finish while first-year Dragon Andy Frank shot an 83 and an 88.
The Dragons will be back in action on March 23 and 24 as they travel to Williamsburg, Va. to compete in the First Market Bank Intercollegiate.
