Golf Completes First Market Bank Intercollegiate in Williamsburg

Williamsburg, Va. - The Drexel golf team faced tough competition in its second event of the spring season at the First Market Bank Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary. The Dragons finished 15th of the 22 schools entered and placed higher than a pair of conference opponents, Towson and George Mason. Trevor Sahn led the Dragons with a top 30 individual finish as he shot a 149 for the two-day event on the par 71 course.
Sahn shot the Dragons' best round of the event in the first round when he fired a two-over-par 73. Senior Mike Carr was just one shot behind after carding a 74 in the opening round. Sean Semenetz fired a 79 while newcomers Andrew Lawson and Andy Frank scored a 76 and 81, respectively, in the first round. The second round saw Sahn once again led the Dragons with a 76 while Carr matched it to finish with a two-round total of 150. Semenetz shaved three strokes off of his first-round score to card a 155 for the event. Frank also improved in his second round, as he finished with a 79 in the final round. Lawson shot an 82 on the second day to finish with an event total of 158.
The Dragons return to action on March 28 and 29 to compete in the Towson Spring Invitational in Grasonville, Md.
