Bethune-Cookman Hands Drexel 5-1 Loss in JU Tournament Finale

Jacksonville, Fla. - Drexel closed out its run at the Jacksonville Tournament with a 5-1 loss to Bethune-Cookman, dropping the Dragons to 1-3 on the season. Freshman Hanna Parrish extended her hitting streak to four games to start her Drexel career. Hillary Allen incurred the loss after allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks through six innings. The game was tied 1-1 through six innings before the Dragons allowed four runs in the top of the seventh.
The Dragons got their only run when, with one out in the third inning Parrish single to left field and stole second and third base. Following a walk to Rachel Campbell, Parrish was thrown out at third base thinking about a double steal as Campbell took scond. Campbell came in to score on an RBI double by Paige Collings.
The run tied the game at 1-1 which remained the score until Bethune-Cookmand plated four runs in the top of the seventh inning on five hits including two home runs. Katrina Gaudier relieved Allen and allowed one more run on a pair of hits before getting out of the inning.
Drexel is back in action on Feb. 25 when the Dragons travel to California to participate in the UC Santa Barbara Tournament.
