Philadelphia - The Drexel men's lacrosse team will welcome Vermont to Vidas Field for a non-conference game on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 1:00 p.m. The Dragons are coming off of their near-upset of No. 3 Virginia in the team's season-opener. Vermont dropped its opener to Bryant, 7-4. The game will mark the first time Drexel and Vermont have faced each other since 2001.
Drexel fell to the third-ranked Cavaliers, 11-8, but led after the first three quarters of the game. Scott Perri scored three goals while Colin Ambler added two goals and an assist but perhaps the star of the game was in the goal. Mark Manos, the 2009 CAA Rookie of the Year, made 17 saves for the Dragons and keyed a Drexel defense that held Virginia to just six goals through three periods.
Vermont dropped its opener thanks in large part to a tough start that saw Bryant score the game's first five goals. The Catamounts had four different goal scorers in the game while goalie Alex Plavner made nine saves in the loss.
