Women's Lacrosse Returns to Vidas for Pair of Conference Games

Philadelphia - After more than a month on the road, Drexel women's lacrosse will return to Vidas Field as the Dragons host Old Dominion on Friday, April 9 at 4:00 p.m. before welcoming No. 19 William & Mary on Sunday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m. in their first Colonial Athletic Association games of the season. Drexel completed its non-conference portion of the schedule by winning eight of its 10 games. The Lady Monarchs enter the weekend with a 2-6 overall mark while the Tribe enter the weekend at 6-4.
The last time the Dragons took the field, they saw their four-game winning streak snapped at Johns Hopkins, 12-1. Katie Lawson leads the attack with 29 goals and 34 points this season. Her 29 goals ranking among the top 5 in the CAA. Fellow senior Becca Drylie-Perkins is second on the team with 27 points on 19 goals and eight assists. Sarah Bauer has spearheaded the Drexel defense as the three-year starter has a team-high 13 caused turnovers and has also added 10 groundballs and seven draw controls. In the net, sophomore Whitney Johnson has stepped up to post a .526 save percentage and an 8.04 goals against average, second-best in the league.
The Lady Monarchs are led in scoring by sophomore Lisa Bernardini who has 33 points on 21 goals and 12 assists. Old Dominion's top goal-scoring threat is Ashley Kellogg who has contributed 23 goals in 2010. The team is coming off of a 16-2 defeat at the hands of No. 3 North Carolina.
William & Mary is led by current CAA Player of the Week Grace Golden. Golden led the Tribe to an 11-10 victory over the Richmond last week with a gaudy stat line that included four goals, an assist, six caused turnovers, four groundballs and two draw controls. Senior Katie Delaney scored a career-high four goals against Richmond after entering the game with just one goal on the season. The Tribe's biggest win of the season came in the season-opener as they defeated No. 16 Ohio State, 15-14.
