
Men's Soccer Comes up Short in CAA Opener at William & Mary

Williamsburg, Va. - Freshman Ken Tribbett scored his second goal of the season, but it was not enough to bring the Dragons back from a 2-0 deficit in a 2-1 loss to William & Mary in the team's CAA opener. The Dragons fall to 4-2-1 on the season while the Tribe improves to 5-1-1 and evens its conference mark at 1-1.
Nathaniel Baako gave the Tribe a lead in the ninth minute on a shot chipped over keeper Pentti Pussinent from 20-yards out. The tally was the only shot put on goal by either team in the first half and gave William & Mary a 1-0 advantage at the break.
The teams waged a more threatening assault on eachother's goals in the second half, combining for 15 corner kicks and nine shots on net.
The Tribe broke through for a 2-0 lead in the 75th minute when Ryan Snyder took a feed from Andrew Hinnant and beat Pussinen on the lower left side.
Tribbett's score came in the waning minutes of regulation, knocking home a shot from the left side to make it a 2-1 final.
Pussinen made four saves in net for the Dragons while Andrew McAdams saved five for the Tribe.
The Dragons finish out their four-game road trip with a match at Bucknell on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
