Drexel battles No. 4 Notre Dame on Sunday in South Bend

The Drexel men's lacrosse team heads to the Midwest to face No. 4 Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon in South Bend, Ind. The Dragons, ranked 16th in the latest USILA Poll, are 1-2 on the season after suffering a 14-13 loss to Villanova. The Irish are 2-0 with wins against Duke and Penn State.
Brendan Glynn scored a career-high five goals in Drexel's loss to Villanova. The sophomore is tied with Scott Perri for the team lead with eight goals. Perri had seven points against the Wildcats and now has eight goals and six assists in only three games. Glynn and Robert Church each have nine points. Mark Manos has a .587 save percentage in goal. The Dragons defeated Albany and lost their opener at Virginia.
The Irish are off to a fast start, easily defeating Duke, 12-7, and holding Penn State to just two goals in a 6-2 win. Zach Brenneman leads a balanced offensive attack with four goals and two assists. Westy Hopkins has three goals in two games. In the cage, John Kemp has 22 saves and has given up just nine goals.
Last season, the Irish came to Philadelphia with an unblemished record and the Dragons upset the visitors, 7-6 in overtime. Notre Dame was ranked third in the nation at the time.
Drexel begins a four-game homestand against CAA-foe Saint Joseph's on March 9.
