Philadelphia - Drexel men's tennis puts the finishing touches on its 2010-11 regular season with a dual match at Delaware (8-6, 2-3) this Sunday at 2:00 p.m. The Dragons (6-4, 1-1) are coming off a tight 4-3 loss to George Mason on Senior Day last weekend and are looking to bolster momentum heading into next weekend's CAA Tournament.
The Blue Hens defeated George Mason 5-2 last Sunday, but have dropped five of their last seven matches overall. Courtney Scott, Troy Beneck and Ryan Kent have been stalwarts in the Delaware lineup this season. Scott leads the team with a 15-8 singles record and a 12-8 mark at first singles in dual matches. Beneck is 12-3 at second singles this year and has 14 overall singles victories to his credit this season. Kent has 13 wins on the season and is 9-6 at sixth singles. Chris Hincker is the veteran leader on the team. He has a 12-11 record this season, playing predominantly at fourth singles, and a career mark of 68-33. On the double side, Kent and Robert Kay have not lost a match in dual play at second doubles this season, boasting a perfect 6-0 mark.
Rookie Skylar Davis has been playing some excellent tennis down the stretch for the Dragons. He is a combined 8-1 while playing at fifth and sixth singles and has yet to lose a match since being moved into the sixth singles spot in the lineup. Senior Manu Bajpai is looking to close out his regular-season career on a high note. Bajpai lost for the first time at second singles last week, dropping his mark to 5-1 in duals on the season and 10-3 overall. Bryan Nguyen and Davis will make a formidable opponent for Delaware's Kent and Kay team at second doubles. The Dragons are 8-6 overall and 6-2 playing at second doubles this season.
Delaware defeated Drexel 6-1 last season. Bryan Nguyen's win over Chris Hincker at fourth singles was the Dragons' lone point in the match. Nikoloz Kurdadze and Manu Bajpai also won at first doubles for Drexel.
