Two Dragons Named to the 2012 All-CAA Preseason Team

Philadelphia – Junior Kelli Joran and senior Charlotte Wood were selected by the league's head coaches to the 2012 Colonial Athletic Association Women's Lacrosse Preseason team released on Wednesday afternoon.
Joran led the 2011 team with 27 draw controls and ranked third in goals with 25. The Downingtown, Pa. native scored at least one goal in 15 of 17 games throughout the season and had a season-high of four goals and five points against La Salle. She also picked up 21 groundballs.
Wood, Second Team All-CAA honoree, was Drexel's leading attacker with 46 goals and 52 points last year. She ranked second in the conference in goals per game and shots per game, as well as listed as top-five in three other categories. The Paoli, Pa. native scored three or more goals nine times in 2011. She was also the first Drexel women's lacrosse player recognized on the Tewaraaton Watch list. Following the season, Wood was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I All-Region Second Team.
The Drexel women's lacrosse team's home opener is Sunday, February 19 at 1:00 p.m. against George Washington. The Dragons were picked to finish third in the CAA.
