Crawford Shines for Dragons in Liberty Invitational

Final Results
Drexel junior Chris Crawford shot a one-under-par 215 over three rounds, finishing just two shots back of the lead, as the Dragons competed in the Liberty Invitational this weekend. The Dragons finished 11th at the tournament at Poplar Grove Golf Course in Amherst, Virginia.
Crawford finished ahead of two players ranked in the top 100 nationally and he tied with another. He opened the tournament with an even-par 72 and in the second round of day one, fired a two-under 70. The junior finished the final round with a one-over 73 to tie for place 10th with North Carolina's Ben Griffin, who entered the week ranked 24th in nation. There was a six-way tie for first place between Liberty's Mathieu Fenasse and Isaiah Logue, Oklahoma's Beau Titsworth, Grant Hirschman and Charlie Saxon and North Carolina's William Register. Fenasse earned medalist honors after he birdied the second extra hole.
Drexel's Yoseph Dance placed 40th overall. The sophomore shot 76-73-77 for a 226 over the 54 holes. Adam Mistretta was just two shots behind Dance. Avery Schneider and Brian Fischer each closed the tournament at 239.
Oklahoma was the team winner at 17-under par in the tournament. The Sooners were 15 shots better than North Carolina, who was the only other team that was under par. Liberty was third, Lipscomb finished fourth while Campbell and Radford tied for fifth.
As a team, Drexel finished three shots better than Delaware, the only other CAA team in the tournament. The Dragons were the top finisher of teams in the Philadephia area, placing ahead of the Hens, Villanova and La Salle.
