Men's Soccer Tripped Up on Derby Day at Penn
9/24/2016 9:24:00 PM | Men's Soccer
PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel men's soccer team fell at Penn on Saturday night, 5-0. The host Quakers used a hat trick from Alec Neumann in the first half to put away the victory as Drexel could not string together a second-consecutive victory over its local rival in the annual University City Derby.
Neumann scored three goals in just over 17 minutes in the first half and Penn added a pair of second-half goals to seal the game away. Senior Tyler Afflerbach had a pair of saves for Drexel in goal.
Armin Efendic registered three of Drexel's six total shots. All three of his shot attempts went on net, but none found the back of the net as Scott Forbes had three saves in his shutout victory. Carlos Cuevas also had a pair of shots and Eden Ben Hemo added one as the Drexel freshmen led the offensive charge.
The Dragons will return to action on Wednesday when they host Delaware at Vidas Field at 7:00 p.m.
