Softball Upended by Belmont in Night Game at Madeira Beach Spring Invitational

MADEIRA BEACH, FLA. - Hannah Walker hit her first triple of the season to drive in a run, however, it was not enough as Belmont used a nine-run sixth inning to defeat the Dragons 16-1 in six frames on a late Saturday evening at the Madeira Beach Spring Invitational.
The game was scoreless until Walker got the Dragons on the board first with a triple to right center in the second inning to plate Reilly Jo Swanson. The Bruins then jumped out to a three-run lead in the third thanks to a couple of hits and Drexel errors.
Drexel put up a fight, but could not get another run on the board as the Bruins used a nine-run sixth inning to secure the 16-1 victory in six innings.
Drexel will continue action in the Madeira Beach Spring Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 17 with a game against Butler at 11:30 a.m.
