MADEIRA BEACH, FLA – Drexel used a six-run seventh inning to down Siena, 10-3, in a comeback victory at the Madeira Beach Spring Invitational on Friday evening.
The Dragons got on the board early in the first inning as Sarah Clinton was hit by a pitch to plate Elena Woulfe, however, Siena answered in the following frames to take the lead with a couple of hits and a stolen base.
Down 3-1, Jenelle Ladrido and Megan Trivelpiece got the Dragons lead back. Ladrido started things off with a two-run single while Trivelpiece's double gave Drexel the 4-3 advantage. The Dragons continued to play hard and never looked back after that, using a huge six-run seventh inning to put Siena away. Mari Gardner and Linda Rush knocked in a pair of RBI singles, while a wild pitch and a Kristi DiMeo three-run homer added four more runs to secure the victory.
Brooklyn Daly earned the win in the circle as she only allowed three hits in four innings of work.
The Dragons will continue action in the Madeira Beach Spring Invitational when they take on Cornell and South Dakota.
