NORFOLK, VA. - Drexel softball cruised past South Carolina State in five innings on the final day of the Hampton Blue and White Classic Sunday morning, 9-1.
Kristi DiMeo doubled and Taylor M. Lee hit an RBI single to put the Dragons up 2-0 in the first. With thebases loaded in the second, DImeo hit a bases clearing double to pad the Dragons' lead 5-0.
DiMeo did not quit there, as she struck the ball over the fence in the fourth, 7-0. Drexel's final runs of thegame came in the fifth to run rule South Carolina when Linda Rush hit a two-run shot.
Drexel will return to action Friday, March 15 for a 10 a.m. game against Bryant.
