Dragons break another program record on final day of the West Virginia Invitational

Morgantown, W.Va.- The Drexel men's swimming and diving team completed the third and final day of the West Virginia Invitational on Saturday night. The Dragons finished with a total of four medal finishes on the third day.

Drexel men's swimming and diving set a program record in the 400 free relay, winning silver with a time of 2:56.51. The team consisted of Alessio Gianni, Andrea Casini, Sebastian Smith, and John Scully. Smith won another silver medal on the day, placing second in the 100 free with a time of 43.66. His preliminary time was 44.21.

Gianni won a gold medal in the 200 back with a time of 1:45.34. His preliminary time was 1:47.19. Joining Gianni on the top of the podium was Kacper Karnik, who finished first in the 200 breast with a time of 1:57.33. His preliminary time was 1:59.33.

Up next, the Dragons will return to the Dak to take on Lehigh. The meet takes place on December 3 with the first event slated for 10:30 a.m.
