Drexel Secures First Conference Win Behind Harris' 6 Goals

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel powered past its first CAA opponent of the year, Delaware behind an eight goal first quarter. The Dragons tied their season best with 20 goals against the Blue Hens in a dominant return to Vidas Field following their trip to the west coast. Drexel improves to a 6-5 overall record and 1-0 in conference play.
Karson Harris tied a season-high best six goals and an assist while grabbing five ground balls and four draw controls. The grad midfielder continues to drive the Dragons offense with 32 goals and six assists on the year.
Corinne Bednarik and Lucy Schneidereith followed close behind, recording four goals apiece. This is the third time this season Schneidereith has recorded four goals while Bednarik's four marked a season high for the junior attack.
Drexel saw eight different goal scorers against the Blue Hens including Harris, Bednarik, Schneidereith, Allison Drake, Colleen Grady, Hayleigh Simpson, Lindsey Dean and Saundra Godshall, who sank her first career goal to close out the game.

First Quarter – Drexel 8, Delaware 2
The Dragons came out hot from the start, tallying eight goals in the first quarter. Schneidereith sank the first two on assists from Grady, opening the door for seven more scoring opportunities. Harris put up three of her six goals in the first, while Bednarik and Drake each added one of their own.
Second Quarter – Drexel 10, Delaware 4
Delaware found a little momentum with two goals in the opening minutes of the second but a goal by Schneidereith and Bednarik helped the Dragons to a six-goal lead heading into the half.
Third Quarter – Drexel 14, Delaware 5
Drexel took a 4-1 advantage in the third behind three more goals from Harris. Bednarik added her third of the day on an unassisted effort.
Fourth Quarter – Drexel 20, Delaware 6
The Dragons stepped their game up in the fourth, taking a 6-1 advantage through the final 15. All six goals in the fourth quarter came from different players, including Schneidereith, Drake, Simpson, Bednarik, Dean and Godshall.
