Dragons Tally Season-High 21 Goals in Dominant Win Over William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Dragons recorded a season high 21 goals on Saturday afternoon in their dominant victory over William and Mary, 21-10. Drexel improves to 7-5 overall and remains undefeated in conference play with a 2-0 record.
The Dragons put up a collective effort against the Pride tallying scores from nine different players, in addition first career goals from Bridget Finley and Olivia Brenner. Drexel's four leading scorers this season paved the way for an explosive offensive outing against William and Mary as Lucy Schneidereith, Karson Harris, Corinne Bednarik and Colleen Grady each recorded three or more goals on the afternoon.
Zoe Bennett was lights out in net for the Dragons, holding the Tribe to only one goal in the fourth quarter and recording her second highest number of saves in net this season with 14. This is the seventh time this season that Bennett has logged double digit saves.

First Quarter – Drexel 5, W&M 3
Grady gave the Dragons an early advantage with back-to-back goals in the 12th minute. Finley added to DU's lead with her first career goal in the following minute and would later give the Dragons a two-goal advantage in the seventh minute. Schneidereith closed out the first quarter with her first of the day, giving the Dragons a 5-3 lead through one.
Second Quarter – Drexel 10, W&M 6
Bednarik opened what would be a dominant second quarter for the Dragons with a free position goal. Despite the Tribe scoring three consecutive, Drexel muscled its way back with four unanswered goals in the final nine minutes for its largest lead of the day. The Dragons saw scores from four different players including Harris, Schneidereith, Grady and Dean.
Third Quarter – Drexel 17, W&M 9
Harris proved to be the Dragons front runner in the third, sinking back-to-back goals in the opening minute and a fourth later in the quarter, helping the Dragons to a 16-6 lead. Bednarik responded in similar fashion with two goals of her own, becoming the third player to secure a hat trick performance. The Pride found three goals towards the end of the quarter but Simpson closed a seven goal third quarter for the Dragons with her first of the day.
Fourth Quarter – Drexel 21, W&M 10
The Dragons sank four more goals in the fourth with a dynamic offensive effort. Schneidereith found success two more times in the fourth to lead Drexel with five goals on the day. Jarema and Brenner added goals of their own in the final minutes, sealing a 21-10 victory for the Dragons.
