Harris Nets Six In Regular Season Finale
PHILADELPHIA – Karson Harris recorded her third six-goal performance in Saturday's 18-12 loss to JMU. The Dragons close out the regular season with a 10-7 overall record and 4-2 in conference play.
Prior to the start of the game, Drexel honored its five graduating senior including Karson Harris, Colleen Grady, Lucy Schneidereith, Zoe Bennett, and Claire Jarema.
HIGHLIGHTS
First Quarter – Drexel 5, JMU 3
The Dragons got off to a hot start against the Dukes, opening the game with three uncontested goals. Schneidereith kicked off the scoring for DU followed by a pair of goals from Bednarik. JMU found its first goal of the game in the eighth minute but a set of goals from Drake and Harris allowed the Dragons to hold on to a two-goal lead through one.
Second Quarter – Drexel 6, JMU 7
The second quarter proved to be a battle of the defenses as the only score in the first 10 minutes came from Harris. The Dukes went on a four goal run in the final four minutes, taking a one goal lead into the half.
Third Quarter – Drexel 10, JMU 12
Harris secured another hat trick performance with the opening goal of the third quarter. The Dukes followed with a five goal run, taking their largest lead of the afternoon. Harris broke up JMU's scoring streak at the 4:15 mark, nailing back-to-back goals to move Drexel back within three. Grady continued the Dragons momentum with a free-position goal in the final minute.
Fourth Quarter – Drexel 12, JMU 18
The Dukes put up six uncontested goals in the fourth, securing an eight goal lead. Drake started the Dragons final push with a free-position goal at the 1:30 mark, opening the door for Harris to close things off for DU with her sixth goal of the day.

The Dragons will host the 2022 CAA Championship tournament next weekend on Friday, May 6 and Sunday, May 8.

- With her first draw control today, Harris officially marked her spot as the CAA's all-time draw controls leader with 328 career draws. She passed Hillary Fratzke (Towson) who previously held the record with 327.
- Harris had an impressive outing in JMU's zone, sinking six goals on only eight total shots.
- Corinne Bednarik and Allison Drake each added a pair of goals while Colleen Grady led the day on the assist with two.
- Drexel has secured the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament which they will host starting on Friday, May 6. It will face No. 3 Hofstra in the semifinal round.
- The Dragons will appear in the CAA Semifinals in back-to-back seasons for the first time since three consecutive appearances from 2011-13.
- DU pushed past the Dukes on the ground, picking up 21 ground balls to JMU's 14.
- The Dukes late game push allowed them to push past the Dragons in front of the net, taking the shot on goal advantage 25-20.
